Macarons from Cannelle Pastisserie, Macaron Day NYC. They were super nice to throw in extras with my purchase even though I had already claimed the promotional one. If I had to guess, these macarons are local. Clean, fresh, and vibrantly flavorful, I wasn’t planning on buying any, but these were among the best I had, so I went ahead and bought their box of 10. I believe it was $12, which is as much a steal as the rest of their products.

The Queens Guide to Cheap Movie Tickets

You like movies, right? You can watch ‘em in Queens for $7 or less if you know the right places. While you shouldn’t expect the exact same modern polish as the run-of-the-mill $12 movie theater, these cheap theaters have a life and soul of their own, one rich with unique charm and old time culture.
Cannelle Pastisserie, Jackson Heights 75-59 31st Avenue Queens, NY 11370 Clockwise from top right: Coco Fraise, Chocolate Mousse, Mixed Fruit Tart. I have yet to get anything from Cannelle that was anything short of wonderful, but the Coco Fraise was cold, light, creamy, and awake with the taste and aroma of strawberry. The other two went to my girlfriend, so ask her how they were.
You know you’re in Flushing when $7 for food is pricy. Can you say “app store?”
Skipping Town for Paris & Barcelona
On Friday, I will be stroking my wanderlust and jet-setting on a week-long trip to Paris and Barcelona. It will be a busy excursion so I won’t have time to update Queens is Awesome! during the trip, and I may not be able to do so before leaving. I know my winter hiatus was longer, but at least this time I can warn you not to expect updates for the week. I’ll write about it and continue with some backlogged articles upon my return.
You have my deepest and sincerest thanks for reading and following Queens is Awesome!
